Rescue Me ID: 18-04-09-00362BAILEY (female)
Lively Bailey was adopted as a young pup. She was spending way too much time in a kennel, so her previous owners thought she needed a family with more playtime and potty training time. Bailey loves the Frisbee and is a very active little girl! A few words from her foster: 'I take her outside to potty lots of times during the day with a small treat and high praise every time she goes. She is good about going to sleep on a dog bed behind me while I work at my desk at home and sleeps soundly all night in her kennel within sight of me in bed. Bailey could really use a household with someone home all day, PLUS either active children and/or another young, active dog.' 14 lbs. Est. DOB: 3/2017 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-08-00303Oliver (male)
Oliver is a wonderful 3-month-old and is great with dogs and people! He's weighs about 8-lbs and he's always up for playing and loves his toys, but will also snuggle on your lap any time you sit down. He follows his foster mom around wherever she goes and does great on car rides. He's had great progress with house training, but may need a refresher once he gets to his forever home. Oliver is VERY smart and is starting to learn simple commands. Given the chance, he would make a great sidekick!

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-04-00144Jake (male)
OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Howdy big, beautiful world! I'm one of the cutest and happiest little guys around. Why? Because I was saved by a wonderful lady that made me a K-9 Angel! I was living in a hoarder situation with LOTS of other dogs and my five siblings. We all lived in ONE crate! It was very cramped and dirty! My foster Mom has shown me how to play in the grass and how to live like a clean puppy. I have a crate to sleep in, a play area both inside and outside, and an area to go potty both inside and outside! It's more room than I ever dreamed possible. I'm very little so I play hard and sleep hard! I love to sleep snuggled on your legs or chest. I want to be close to you, but I sleep quietly in my crate at night. I get along with my foster dog siblings and elementary kids. Also have you seen my handsome hair? It's like I got a specialty highlight job at the best salon in town! I'm told when you look in my eyes you see nothing but love. I'm hoping to break a record on approved adoption applications! Come meet me and play, maybe you can be my FURever home. Jake is a Male Yorkie / Miniature Schnauzer mix that we estimate to be born around 1/26/18 and currently weighs 3.5 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_adoption_process.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. (Less)

Animal ID: 18-063Arthur (male)
Arthur is fostered in Gainesville Texas through United Yorkie Rescue http://unitedyorkierescue.org. Arthur is a 4 yr. old 6.8 lb. Yorkie boy who came to United Yorkie Rescue in March 2018 after being brought to a vet office as a stray. Although he has a microchip and the vet located an owner, his owner declined to claim him so the vet contacted United Yorkie Rescue asking for help. Arthur's very healthy and the sweetest boy ever! He's happy, loving and full of life, loves to cuddle, sleep in the bed with his foster mom, and gives the sweetest kisses. AND he's amazing with his foster siblings, both dogs and cats. We're working to find out more about his personality, but this sweet boy is excited to find his forever home! With his size he'll need a home that has older children who respectful of his small size, and animals the same in size to prevent injury. He'd love a fenced yard to play in, and walks to explore the neighborhood. If you have a basket of toys and some yummy treats, this boy can't wait to meet you! To complete an application for this sweet boy, follow the adoption application link located on the left side of the page on our website http://unitedyorkierescue.org. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-02-00473Austin (male)
Austin is an energetic 12 year old big (18 lbs) guy in need of a new home. His mommy of 12 years' life has gotten super hectic that he is having to spend too much time on his own. She reached out asking for us to find him a home where he can get lots of love and attention that he deserves. He's kind of a goofy, happy guy. He may be a senior but he thinks he's still a pup. He love to go for walks and be his human's shadow. He likes everyone he meets and likes to take trips to the dog park. If you have space in your heart and home for this big ol man, please complete our online through www.savetheyorkies.org/adopt. Adoption fee is $200

Animal ID: 18-047Helen (female)
Helen is fostered in Lancaster TX through United Yorkie Rescue http://unitedyorkierescue.org. Helen comes to UYR as an abandoned dog used in breeding. She was discarded by her owners when she was no longer of any value to them. She is most likely about 10 yrs old and weighs 9.7lbs. Despite skin infection and loss of most of her hair, it's obvious she's relieved to be in the arms of love and safety. Although in constant discomfort as she begins her healing journey, she not only wags her tail but gladly gives the sweetest kisses! Fortunately, she's heart worm negative and it has been determined that her skin issues are probably untreated infections induced by either fleas or allergies. She has had a full blood panel which will help us to determine next steps. UYR will treat her and get her on the road to recovery with a new home to follow! Helen gets along with her fur siblings and is catching on quickly to the routines. There's a beautiful Yorkie under all of this neglect just waiting to catch up on the good life of love, attention, snuggles, quality food and being treated like a princess. Helen is making great progress both physically and emotionally. She loves hanging with the pack, eating and being near her person. Helen has learned to go outside for her business and then sit for her treat. She gets a medicated bath followed by a coconut oil rub down several times a week and it's paying off. Her hair is starting to grow as her skin gets healthier and she doesn't itch nearly as much. Helen still has a long road in front of her but she's making progress and we can't wait for her to find her forever loving home! To complete an adoption application for sweet Helen, go to http://unitedyorkierescue.org and follow the adoption application link on the left side of the page. (Less)

Kaiser is a two year old Piebald Dachshund Yorki mix. He's 10 lbs, HW-, UTD on vaccines and will be neutered prior to adoption. He doesn't have a tail. He definitely acts like both breeds at times. He can be barky when excited and then calms down and can be sweet. He's working on house training and socialization. He loves to run the fence line so a securely fenced yard is a must! He's been groomed since this picture was taken and had to have several mats taken off his legs but he will soon be back to his adorable self. Please contact us for an adoption application.

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-20-00163Junie B (female)
Junie B is ready for some fun and adventure like the girl in the children's books! This Junie B is fun, happy, cute, and ready to play. She is a young girl - about two years old and close to 13 pounds. Junie B loves people, kids, and male dogs her size (big dogs kind of scare her and she doesn't get along well with female dogs). She has been spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and ready for a home of her own! Junie B has been DNA tested to find out her breed. She is a Pug/Boston Terrier/Yorkie Mix. WE ARE IN ABILENE, TEXAS. WE DO NOT SHIP OR TRANSPORT OUR PETS, WE REQUIRE ADOPTERS MEET THE DOG TO MAKE SURE IT IS A GOOD FIT.

Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.
