Rescue Me ID: 17-04-25-00081Lucky (male)

Yorkie    Age: Young Adult

Date into Rescue: 4/3/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder Release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Sometime in the next year Lucky will need a dental Weight: 7 lbs Height: 8' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? Not needed. What kind of home would be best for me? The previous breeder/owner's health had become poor and so had the health of her husband. After back surgery really sidelined her, animal control was called in by her neighbors. While all the legalities were in order this time, she realized that something had to change. Kindly neighbors directed her to CPR and gratefully, she ... (Read More)asked us to take over and find homes for her babies. Our 34 dogs have now been with us for 3 weeks. They know some things about living in a home but not others .They are, for the most part, a bit shy and take some time to come around but once they are with you for a while, they become more social. It will take time and introducing them to new sights and sounds but we believe all will become pampered house pets very quickly. We are crate training them now and that is the beginnings of house training. A committed owner can take them the rest of the way. Our best home for these babies is one with another gregarious, happy small dog that will show the new dog how to live in a home. The home will be an experienced dog owner who understands and is willing to give a new dog time to settle in. We have not tested them with children yet and for most, they are so small that homes with children under 7 will not be good fits. If you can offer patience, stability and a confident canine friend to one of these dogs, please consider applying to give them their second, and forever, home. We do know a few things about Lucky. Lucky is by the far the most out going out of the bunch. He is truly a big dog trapped in a small dogs body! He loves to sit in laps and give kisses, he also loves treats and toys and walks great on a leash. Lucky would be a great addition to any family that would offer him play time and love! How I act when I first meet new people: Friendly House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Estimated birth date 4/4/2012 Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.     Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.
