Rescue Me ID: 16-07-20-00339Tali (female)

Yorkie    Age: Young Adult

Date into Rescue: 04/01/2016 Reason for being in rescue: stray via the HEART program in Columbia SC Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? demodex (non contagious) mange and heartworm positive. Tali is being treated for her heartworms via the slow kill method which is just a monthly heartworm preventative. If adopted, Tali will be sent home with a twelve month supply of Triheart heartworm preventative. We encourage all potential adopters to research heartworms and treatment protocols to gain a better understanding of heartworms and why a monthly preventative is so important! Tali is being treated for demodex with ... (Read More)bravecto, a flea/tick control that is oral and is given every 3 months. Weight: about 6 lbs Height: about 8' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? no What kind of home would be best for me? Due to her special needs, Tali is looking for a home with an adopter that has previous dog owning experience. Tali will need to continue to take her heartworm preventative as well as the bravecto which treats her demodex and keeps her coat looking good! What is my personality like? Tali is your typical Yorkshire terrier- cute and compact with a spunky and spirited nature. She has that small dog mentality where she likes to think she is the size of a great dane. Tali is very confident and she has the tendency to pick on the weaker dogs, so she would fit best in a home with another self assured dog or a dog that is bigger in size than her. Since Tali has been here at the farm, she has lived in a cottage with all medium sized dogs and she has gotten along great with them! She likes to run with the big boys! Tali also has a sweet and affectionate side. She has no problem spending time cuddled up on the couch. She will climb up in your lap and give you kisses. How I act when I first meet new people: Tali is friendly to new people. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Est 4 or around 4/1/2012 Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
