|Rescue Me ID: 14-07-01-00556Mr. Brodie (male)|
All about me! Name: Mr. Brodie Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Age: est 6 years Height: est 6 inches Weight: about 5 lbs Good with dogs? yes-small ones, I really don't like bigger dogs Good with men? loves 'em Good with women? loves 'em House trained? appears to be Crate trained? yes Leash trained? yes Must have fenced in yard? no-but I love to explore Foster home is: Debi in Sanford, NC Adoption fee: $200.00 Date into rescue: 6/15/2014 Why am I with a rescue group? I did not like my big sister (who was a Labrador) and I let her know it on a regular basis. One day, when her patience ran out, we got in a fight. My eye was injured and they had to remove it. My family decided that we just could not all live together so they called these great folks at CPR and here I am. I am a 'live and let live kind of guy'. I get along fine with all my foster brothers & sisters, but they are all little like me. I pretty much keep to myself, I am crate trained, love to go for walks, rides in the car are also a lot of fun. I am a great snuggler--I really like humans. I go to the back door when I need to go out, but if you don't see me, I will use a puppy pad. I would do best in a home as an only dog or maybe with one other little one who is calm and laid back. Please no young children as I might get stepped on. If you have a place for me in your home and your heart, please go to our web page and apply. How I act when I first meet new people: a little shy, but I warm up quickly. Please note - we do not ship dogs. Ms. Olivia, who is CPR's groomer drew my number and did a fantastic job!See my new pictures above. Also, we won the People's Choice award--what can I say, I am a popular guy, looking for my forever home. UPDATE 3/13/2014: Look at me! Hooray, I am just fantastic! I have finished all of my medications and am doing super on my diet--don't I look great? I am ready for my forever home and I hope you have room for me in yours! My foster mom will be glad to tell you all about me! Please go to our web page and complete an application. Hope to meet you soon! UPDATE 1/1/2014: I am continuing to do so much better. I have just one medication to finish, then we will run some more blood tests and hopefully, I will be ready for my forever home. I do eat a special diet, but as long as I stay on my diet ( a dry & canned hydrolyzed protein diet), I am fantastic! My final tests will cost about $300. Can you please help, so I can be on the way to my new forever home? Please go to our webpage to donate and say it is for Nemo. Thanks so much and Happy New Year! UPDATE 10/5/2013: Just look at me now! With the right combination of food, medicine and love, I have put on almost 4 pounds, and I am very healthy now. I have almost finished my drug therapy and will soon be looking for my new home. Once the drug therapy is finished, and as long as I stay on my special food, I will be ready to go to my forever home. Please let us know if you have a spot for me! UPDATE 7-16-2013: Nemo has been in his foster home about 2 weeks and is showing signs of improvement, but it is not without cost. His food, medications, monthly blood work and vet visits are $235.00 per month. Please will you help us let this little boy have a normal life?? We cannot continue without your help. Please go to our web page and donate for Nemo! Why am I with a rescue group? Nemo was released to the Wake county shelter by a family member after his original owner died. Nemo is a very sweet and loving little guy. He will follow you anywhere, sleep at your feet or in your bed, snuggle in your lap or on the couch. Little Nemo has some digestive issues that we are working very hard to resolve. According the information we have, he has some food allergies and digestive challenges. His history shows that with the right combination of food and medication, he can be a happy, healthy boy. The family member that was caring for Nemo did not know what the correct combination of food and medication was and as a result, Nemo has lost a few pounds. Please help us, help Nemo! In order to make him well, they are running many tests, blood, urine, fecal, etc. to pinpoint exactly what is wrong--this is all very expensive--We need to raise about $2,000. If you can help, please make a donation in Nemo's name on our webpage. How I act when I first meet new people: friendly Please note - we do not ship dogs. Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.
