Animal ID: PPR17-51Midget (male)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Midget is an 8-year-old, 10-lb, male Yorkie mix. He is neutered and housebroken. He belonged to a 95-year-old lady. He was recently diagnosed with diabetes and she was unable to give him his insulin injections, so she surrendered him to Puppy Pals Rescue. Midget is a lovebug - wants to be in your lap most of the time. (LOVES to destroy stuffed animals!) He has a good appetite and likes to wander in the yard. He gets along with other dogs (just ignores them). He loves to go on walks and follows his person from room to room. He is cage trained although he doesn't really like it. He barks to go outside and to ask for water. His demeanor ... (Read More)reminds me of a Schnauzer. He prances when he walks and he holds his head up high! (Yep, he's a snooty dog. LOL!) With veterinary advice, Puppy Pals decided that Midget would benefit from cataract surgery. His surgery was performed on August 2. He is recuperating nicely. It's like seeing a new dog! Thank you Puppy Pals Rescue and their donating friends for giving him a new lease on life! Now he is ready for his new furever family! If you have any questions, please contact the foster home at the link found at http://www.puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Midget1751.html. Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting this pup - you can find those at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Applications.html. (Email the foster home and let them know you applied so they can be sure the application is received!) (Less)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hey I'm Lamont, son of Fred. I hear I'm 1 years old. I'm a Chorkie (Chihuahua & Yorkie mix). Not sure how much I weigh, but I'm bigger than my Dad! My previous owner surrendered me & my Dad to this scary place. We were so scared, we couldn't move! A nice lady took us from there to another nice lady to be groomed (THAT was a first!!!!). We were really grimy, dirty, and covered in fleas. Man, do I feel better! My Foster Mom calls me a bit of a spaz, but I am just enjoying all this freedom & space I have now!! I have my own food bowl and crate!!! And my own toys? This is off the hook!!! I'm pretty good in my crate and getting better with potty ... (Read More)training. I love other dogs, but sometimes I just want to be alone and with my human. I love treats and I hide them. I have a little growl that I think is tuff, but my Foster Mom always giggles at me when I break it out. What's that all about? If you'd like to adopt Lamont, apply for him today at www.adoptapitrescue.org under the Application tab. Lamont is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $250. (Less)

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi I'm Fred, father of Lamont. I've been told I'm 2 years old. I'm a Chorkie, a Chihuahua/Yorkie mix. Not sure how much I weigh, but I am smaller than Lamont. My previous owner surrendered me to a loud & scary place. We were both so scared that we couldn't move! A nice lady took us from there and to another nice lady that groomed us. I have never been through something like that, but I sure do feel and smell better! I come from a super crowded place. Now I have my own crate, food bowl and toys. I am living the high life! My Foster Mom even bought us sweaters for when it gets cold. I hope this gig never ends! Who knew life could be like ... (Read More)this? I am an accomplished jumper. I will jump the baby gates to hang out with my Foster Mama. If you would like to adopt Fred, apply for him today at www.adoptapitrescue.org under the Application tab. PIease Read Before Adopting a Yorkie in Ohio
Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.

lnteresting Yorkie Trivia Low-Cost Ohio Spay & Neuter Clinics
Yorkies were bred to hunt rats in the mines of north England. Yorkies were probably developed by Scotsmen working in Yorkshire, England. Piebald Yorkies came about by an accident of genetics in 1984 and are now considered a separate breed, the Biewer Yorkie. Yorkies have been popular ladies' lap dogs for many years.
