Animal ID: PPR15-93Cupcake (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello, my name is Cupcake (known as Momma). I came into rescue with my two puppies when they were only 2 weeks old named Faith and Hope. I am on the skinny side at 8.1 pounds and hopefully will gain weight now that I'm finished nursing my pups. I am not one who really likes treats. I am not a big eater - my foster mom slips me some good stuff sometimes! %A0 I came from a breeder/hoarder in Kentucky. One of our members in KY pulled us out of that situation (in addition to 2 other breeder mothers). %A0 Since I've been here I've had a thorough health examination at the vet's office. I received all my shots, was fecal and heartworm ... (Read More)tested (which were negative) and was micro-chipped. I am now spayed and ready to start a new life My foster mom said that I was a good momma, it's time to focus on me - to have a loving forever home to love me for who I am. The life that I had has been hard on me. I do have some health issues to be aware of: I have one eye which is smaller than normal and when it was brought to the vet's attention, my foster home was told that I'm blind in that eye. You would never know it - or suspect it. I also have had a difficult time being house-trained. I appear crate trained, but seem to have lots of accidents. My foster home has checked with the vet and now I take medicine that is helping the situation. I had ear infection which is all cleared up. Overall, I'm a healthy girl - just have some issues after a hard life. No one is perfect! %A0 I enjoy napping on the back of the couch. In the evening, I like to get close to my foster mom on the couch and nap. I love going outside. I would prefer to have a fenced in yard. I haven't been on walks because I'm having a hard time learning how to walk on a leash. I never had the pleasure of taking walks with my owner before - we didn't have that type of relationship. %A0 I am looking for a new forever loving home. I would be a good dog for about any situation - a single person or a family. I've not been around real young kids so it might be best to meet them first. Children older in age would probably be ok. I haven't been around cats so we would have to test for safety. I do bark some - so possibly an apartment might not be the best?? We would have to check that out. If you're looking for a sweet, beautiful girl'| I know you will fall in love with me right away - I'm just that! HEALTH UPDATE:%A0 Cupcake is currently on daily Enrofloxacin tablets which is an antibacterial tablet for%A0bladder. Here is some info on the meds:%A0 %A0 Enrofloxacin is a broad spectrum antibiotic used in veterinary medicine to treat animals afflicted with certain bacterial infections. This drug belongs to a class of antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones and is not effective against infections caused by viruses, fungi or parasites. Enrofloxacin works by inhibiting the process of DNA synthesis within the bacterial cells, which results in cell death. This drug is commonly used to treat a range of bacterial infections, including those of the skin, urinary tract and respiratory system, as well as infections that result from wounds. Cupcake's past life as a breeder dog has affected her bladder, causing her to have leakage at times.%A0%A0 Since she has been on this medicine it has gotten much better.%A0%A0 She has%A0one dysfunctional%A0eye in which she has no vision.%A0%A0 It does not%A0seem to bother her ability to function normally. %A0%A0%A0 She continues to be a happy girl looking for love. If you have any questions about her and her condition we will try our%A0best to answer them or%A0we will consult with our vet for an answer. If you have any questions please contact my foster mom at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Cupcake1593.html .%BD%A0 Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting me - you can find those at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Applications.html %BD%A0(Email my foster home and let them know you applied so they can be sure the application is received! ) I just can't wait to find a forever home!%BD%A0 Thanks!!! Rescue Me ID: 16-01-31-00670Pippa (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Pippa is a 7 year old, female, min pin/terrier mix. She has been spayed, is current on shots and has tested negative for heartworms. Pippa is a super sweet and loveable girl, who loves to cuddle. Her and 12 other min pins were rescued from deplorable conditions a week after their owner had died in the home unknown to others. They were locked in a tiny bedroom, with no food or water, and you could clearly see none of them had been feed in sometime. She is now ready for a home to call her own with a family to love and cuddle with. If interested, please contact us for an application. Our rescue does not go by a first come, first serve basis. We ... (Read More)process the applications that come in, and choose the best home for each dog. However, we also do not hold dogs. They are ready to be adopted now. After a dog is adopted, we can then rescue another dog in need. Thank you for choosing a rescue dog. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-23-00235Leela fostered in PA (female)

Yorkie    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

http://www.wolfspiritsrescue.com/animals/detail?AnimalID=9178891 Leela is ready for a permanent home who has patience to help her blossom even more. She needs to learn house manners and walking on a leash. Leela will still need constant watch and cleaning of her ears which is very easy. Apply today to be her foster or adoptive family Leela is probably about 5-6 yrs old. Sweet as can be considering the place she came from. Her ears are full of cysts and currently on medication because when the vet tried to clean them out she found they were a little infected. They can do a proceedure that will remove them but then the ear would have ... (Read More)to be sutured closed and she would not be able to hear. So we are just waiting to see what the meds do. She does not appear to be in pain when they are touched so that's a good thing. She was very matted and her foster mom brushed and combed her so that Leela would not have to be shaved down. She had 4 baths to remove the smell and yucky grime that covered her. Leela was super in the tub too. She seems to be fine with other dogs and ignores cats so far. Leela is still new to being in a home so we will update as she progresses. *****Updates from Ohio ***** Leela is doing great !!! She loves everyone and hasn't met a stranger yet. She is recovering from her spay and dental. She had 10 teeth removed but that doesn't seem to bother her at all. She's bouncy, happy and a such a loving little girl. She gives kisses freely to anyone that will accept them. Leela hasn't played with toys nor the other dogs yet. Maybe in time she will - everything is still very new to her. She loves to watch TV when something catches her eye. We continue to clean out her ears. They don't seem to hurt her at all when we clean them. She's too busy trying to kiss us as we try to get her meds in them. Her family will have to continue with her ear cleaning and take her in to have them checked periodically. Leash walking is not going too well. She gets so excited and wants to pull. She would much rather run freely in her foster homes' fenced yard. Something she nor any mill survivor has never done before. (Less)

Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.
