Yorkie    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello! My name is Slick. I'm an 8 year old purebred Yorkie who is blonde and gray in color and weighs 8.3 lbs. I'm a real foster momma's boy and lap dog. She calls me her sweet little boy'| and I'm eating that up. %A0 I came to Puppy Pals Rescue when a rescue lady down in Louisville, KY called and asked if they would take a few of us breeder releases. Of course, they did! They came down to KY to pick us up and returned back to Ohio. I'm so happy to be sprung out of a breeder's hands after 8 years. I'll be forever happy now. %A0 Once we got to our foster home (called the K'house) I was taken to the vet's office to ... (Read More)get neutered, get all my shots updated, have heartworm and fecal tests completed (all negative) and be micro-chipped. When they picked me up they said that I needed a dental badly due to infected gums. I was scheduled for an appointment and had 6 teeth pulled and now only have 5 or 6 left. Because of this, my little tongue sometimes sticks out. Due to the condition of my gums and infection in the jaw - they recommended that I be closely watched for a few weeks until my gums are well healed and give my jaw the chance to heal and get stronger. They recommend that I not have any thing hard or play with a toy until the end of November. I may never be able to have a Milk Bone type treat, but there are other soft treats that I can have later. %A0 I'm an active little fella for my age. I love to get up on the couch and watch TV with my foster mom and when she's crafting I'll sit and watch her for hours. I love the PPR cuddle beds and if there is one around'| that's where I'll be laying. %A0 I have been doing well with the house-training . I have had some accidents, but am getting much better. I will wear a belly-band without any problems. %A0 I love to ride in the car and go on walks. I'm getting much better on the leash. I do love to go outside and chase the birds and squirrels or find a sunny spot in the yard and take a nap. %A0 Due to my age and size, I might be better suited for an older couple or single person without small children. I'm not a tiny Yorkie, but small enough. I've never been with children and they might be too overwhelming for me right now? %A0 A fenced in yard would be nice to go outside and do my business. However, I'm not a dog that is so active that I need lots of exercise, so a fenced in yard isn't a deal breaker if my foster mom finds the best suited home for me. I will need someone who will continue to work on my house-training, provide continuous health/dental care'| someone who will give me a second chance at life and make sure I'm spoiled forever! If you have any questions please contact my foster mom at the link found at Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting me - you can find those at %A0(Email my foster home and let them know you applied so they can be sure the application is received! ) I just can't wait to find a forever home!%A0 Thanks!!! Rescue Me ID: 15-10-27-00760Simon (male)

Yorkie    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Simon is a good dog. He loves attention, is house broken and listens fairly well. He has become a little aggressive on occassions. So, I think an adult owner with no children would probably be the best for Simon.

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Josie is a JRT Yorkie mix rescued from a puppy mill. She does great with other dogs but is a little nervous around people. There isn't an aggressive bone in her body. She needs someone who will help her explore the world, learn new things and teach her that people aren't so bad after all. Her current foster home is working on crate training and house training. This is a difficult concept for her coming from a puppy mill and needs someone to continue working with her. She has been doing good over the last few weeks but until she learns what being a dog means and not someone's 'cash cow' puppy machine she will not be perfect with either. ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Yorkie in Ohio
Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.
