Animal ID: 17-017Max (male)

Yorkie    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered

Max is a sweet 7 year old, 10 pound Yorkie fellow. He is being fostered in Winston-Salem, NC. Updated Bio 1/29/2017: Just in 10 days . . take a look at what a difference a dental, antibiotics, a bath and a little trim makes! This this little boy has turned into a handsome little man! His skin fungus is all gone, he's no longer itching, his hair is growing back beautifully, his mouth is all fixed and it doesn't hurt anymore. Since he has felt so much better, foster mom has discovered Max is believed to be house broken, he is just getting used to things, but has very limited accidents. He loves exploring outside and enjoys playing with ... (Read More)selective foster brothers and sisters, and tolerates them all. A word of caution, Max is a runner and is quick to escape an open door. He must go to a home where his access to the outside is fenced. He is a perfect companion in the car, an excellent rider, and does wonderfully on a leash. Max is an adorable, lovable little Yorkie boy and would be a perfect companion for anyone with children at least 11 and up. Questions, please contact foster mom at laloba1016@yahoo.com. Initial Bio 1/19/17 Max's day started out horrible when his owner surrendered him because they could no longer take care of him. He was scared and trembling, his mouth hurt because he needs a dental, his back itched because he had fleas which were untreated. Poor Max also has a fungus infection and he's missing some hair. But Max had two new best friends, and he didn't even know it yet. The lady at the shelter met the foster mom at the door and told her she had another Yorkie pup by the name of Max and hoped that she might take him along with the puppy she had originally come for. Foster mom looked in the cage and saw that scared little Yorkie and said, 'Why yes, I will take that pup, you get him ready, he can go with me'. Foster mom didn't even call her boss to see if it was okay, she just put him in the front seat of the car in a puppy seat and with a puppy in the crate in the back seat, they all headed to Winston Salem, NC On the drive home foster mom called dogtor Jeni and scheduled a dogtor appointment the next morning for Max, too! This little boy is a charmer. His surrender paperwork indicates he is very smart, house-trained, walks on a leash, very active, playful, friendly, and very independent. He is settling in at Foster Mom's on his first night, as he is not accustomed to having foster brothers and sisters, and the surroundings are quite new. We will begin to assess him once he has settled in. He had been with his previous owners since a pup. It is a good idea to get your adoption application in for this little guy if you are interested in adopting him. Why? Because once that dental is done, it won't take long to take care of his skin issues, and he'll be good to go. He'll be looking for his forever home and you won't want to miss this handsome little delight. Questions - contact foster mom at laloba1016@yahoo.com (Less)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Roscoe is an adorable 8 year old, 11 pound little boy who is being fostered in Winston-Salem, NC. UPDATED BIO 02/14/2017: Roscoe is a sweet little love bug. He is a happy little pup and when he knows Foster Mom is home he runs toward her. Because of Roscoe's cataracts, he can't see her, but he hears her calling to him and his little tail just wags! Foster Mom picks him up and first he smells her nose, then he gives her a kiss! As Roscoe's vision deteriorates, he finds himself bumping into the other pups. His brothers don't understand and sometimes they fuss at him for being in their way. Foster Mom keeps him close to her to help ... (Read More)the others understand. Roscoe has been to the dogtor and it has been confirmed he is an excellent candidate for cataract surgery. His surgery is currently scheduled for 2/24/2017 - but we need your help to reach our goal of $3,000 for his surgery. Without this surgery, Roscoe will soon be totally blind. As of right now, he can see light/dark only in one eye and a little fuzz in the other. He is only 8 years old, and is in perfect health. Please help us restore his sight, it is such a precious gift and Roscoe has so many more years in which to live, let's help him see his future unfold. You may go to UYR's YouCaring page at https://www.youcaring.com/roscoe-752295or you may donate through the PayPay Donation button below his bio. Roscoe Thanks You. Animal ID: 17-006Zen (male)

Yorkie    Age: Adult

Zen is a 9 year old, 15 pound Yorkie male. Zen is being fostered in Winston Salem, NC. UPDATED BIO 02/11/2017: Zen is doing wonderful since his last update. He has come through a double hernia and neuter surgery splendidly. He is such a happy-go-lucky boy. True to his name, Zen is very laid back and friendly and playful with all his foster brothers, toys and person. He even gets along with Bella the big black cat! Zen also loves to snuggle, cuddle and just be with his person. He is a real gentleman on the grooming table. Due to his poor condition upon arrival at his foster home, there was not a lot of time to devote to ... (Read More)house-training, but Foster Mom is now working on this and he is doing rather well, having less and less accidents in the home since Foster Mom has learned his bathroom notifications. When Zen arrived in his foster home, he had a slight limp on his right leg/foot. A prescription of Carprofen {this is an (NSAID) medication that helps relieve the pain and inflammation that occurs with arthritis} was prescribed by the vet. However, after observing him for a bit longer, it was decided to have x-rays done at the same time as his hernia surgery. The vet looked over his x-rays and decided to consult with the orthopedic specialist to get his opinion. The orthopedic specialist said that it is likely that mineralization in the lame area is related and suggested rest and continuation of the Carprofen for 2 months, which should resolve the problem. Zen has no problems with this dogtor order, as he enjoys laying on the couch with foster mom and he asks to be picked up and waits to be put down. While foster mom is away at work, he has a big fluffy pillow to lie on during the day. Zen's vetting care has been expensive; if you would like to assist with his mounting vet bills, please select PayPal beneath his bio to make a donation. Zen would appreciate it as he is certainly being a perfect little pup during his stay. Zen is ready for his forever home ~ if you would like to view additional pictures of him, please visit Foster Mom's Facebook page - A NC Yorkie Rescue - or you can contact at the email below. Zen wishes you a Happy Valentine's Day! (Less)
