|Rescue Me ID: 15-03-01-00217Mickey (male)|
Meet Mickey! Mickey may be 8 years old, but he has the energy of a much younger dog! He loves to run and play, especially in the snow and he thoroughly enjoys a good game of fetch! Mickey lived a very happy life with his owner and another dog, until his owner passed away and he ended up at a high-kill shelter, separated from the only other dog he had ever known. His deceased owner's friend saved his life and took him home, but due to a personal situation she could no longer keep him and brought him to our shelter. Mickey is a lovable goof once he get to know you, but the process of meeting him can take a little while. He lived a very sheltered life in his previous home, so he can be very shy during initial introductions with new people, and it takes a few meetings for him to feel fully comfortable with a new person. Once he bonds with someone, it is for life, and he will be their partner in crime and the best friend they have ever known. He just needs someone with enough patience and love to give him the second chance at a home that he deserves. He would do best in an adult only home. He may be able to live with one other dog, as long as they are introduced properly, but we would prefer to place him as an only pet. [Read About Natural Incontinence Care] *** COURTESY POST*** FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS ANIMAL PLEASE CONTACT ROBYN OF WAGGY TAILS RESCUE AT firstname.lastname@example.org Meet Marlon! This happy little man is a 5 year old Yorkie who is currently living in his foster home in NY. He is super sweet and loves his fellow foster friends both dogs and cats. He is a little scared of children, so we would prefer he not go to a home with young kids. This poor little man has really been through the ringer!! He is incontinent from having stones for so long that caused UTI's. All of which were left untreated. Since we have had him he has gone through two extensive surgeries to get the stones removed. They were lodged in his ureters. His current foster mommy says his house training is much better since she first got him but he still goes inside several times a day and sometimes right when he comes back from a walk. He is currently being treated for another infection. He must be on a special RX diet for the rest of his days. He can't wear a belly band because the vet is worried he will get another infection. With all of this said it is very important that he go to an experienced adopter and someone who is very patient and can give him the love that he deserves. He is a great little man with a wonderful and loving personality! He can't wait to find his forever home!! (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-01-22-00203Chance (female)|
Our little Chance is a special girl who is tiny, very tiny. She is a teacup and weighs about 4 pounds. She has some medical issues which we are taking care of but the adopter of little Chance should know that we are doing all we can to ensure her future with her new family will be as good and as long term as possible. Chance has surgery scheduled for mammary tumors. She had the first half of the surgery and is recovering well and waiting for the next part. The tumors are cancer BUT on a good note they are not expected to spread. Lab tests can tell these things within certain accuracy. We will be doing this in a 2 part series. She is a sweet loving baby (ok senior) who would love to have a lap of her own and a stay at home person who can give her all the love a girl can want. She has a wonderful foster where she shares the love of her family. Warning-Chance will become your best friend. She will follow you everywhere. She will be thrilled to be taken all over with you when you allow her to heal from her medical care. Must live on Long Island. Must be retired or part time worker at most. Children should have experience with small dogs as Chance has much experience with children. She won't hurt yours and we expect the same in return. Chance will remain in our foster home unless you have a better place to offer her. Vet references mandatory and personal references as well. We will home check. For the right person we will allow foster with the intent to adopt when her surgery and recovery is done. We are also open to the possibility of a pre-adoption when she is ready to leave. She is also going to have a dental. She will be vetted to the maximum necessity when adopted and Chances new family should be able to continue to afford routine vet care in the future so she is kept as well cared for as we are doing. Sounds very intense yes but really all we are asking is for Chance to find a home that will love her the way her current family does. Everything has been laid out on the table. Contact us with questions. We will be completely honest with you. Must be over 21 to adopt but in light of the must be home more than not a mature family would be best. (Less)

Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.
