Rescue Me ID: 15-11-25-00593Benny (male)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Benny is a 2 year old, 17 pound, we believe poodle/terrier mix but he is a rescue so there is no way to say for sure. He's a happy guy who loves his humans. He plays with the foster's pups but chases their cats, to play I'd say, but they don't appreciate it much. He's terrified of stairs more than 3 or 4, so he will need some work on this. He likes his treats, doesn't bark much and cries if you put him in a time out. Seems to be mostly potty trained and is a heart breaker. Walks nice on a leash but potties on cement because he used to being a city dog, but foster is getting him used to grass. He is in a foster home in Gloucester County, New ... (Read More)Jersey. Rescue will arrange transport if needed. (Less)

Noah is a young Silky Terrier mix who needs a home. He has a classic personality for his breed and is active, friendly and alert. He'll need a family who has time for adventures and lots of exercise and play time. This is a very intelligent breed as shown in a recent survey reported on Dogs 101. Of 92 small breed dogs, the silky Terrier is in the top 20 for learning most quickly. Noah is sweet and affectionate and loves walking and as a proud terrier, he will be hunting for squirrels and other varmints. He's good in the car. Noah is neutered and vaccinated. Yorkie    Age: Adult

Hannah is a nice dog. Just would like her to be able to get more attention. Our life has gotten busier and cant take her for walks like I used to. We had an adopted cat once who was good with dogs, so she was good with it. Not sure it she would take to a cat that was more aggressive.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Yorkie in New Jersey
Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.

lnteresting Yorkie Trivia Low-Cost New Jersey Spay & Neuter Clinics
Yorkies were bred to hunt rats in the mines of north England. Yorkies were probably developed by Scotsmen working in Yorkshire, England. Piebald Yorkies came about by an accident of genetics in 1984 and are now considered a separate breed, the Biewer Yorkie. Yorkies used to be much larger but have gradually been bred down to become a miniature breed.
