Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Hello rescue buddies, It's time for an update on our precious Dylan. He was surrendered to a local shelter when his family could no longer care for him. Shelter medical tests showed that Dylan had diabetes, which also resulted in vision loss. He needed more care than the shelter could give him. Sherry's Place Rescue was contacted and asked if we could help Dylan. We picked him up, placed him in a loving foster home, and gave him the medical treatment he needed to get well. Dylan is feeling much better now that he is receiving the proper medical care. He is a special needs boy who needs an insulin injection every 12 hours to control his ... (Read More)diabetes. Dylan also needs daily prescription eye drops. He is 6 years old, and weighs 15 pounds. Our sweet boy is now happy and active and ready to be part of a loving family who will continue to take care of his medical needs and give him the love and attention he deserves.     Meet Lady! She is a sweet and gentle Yorkie mix who is the newest member of Sherry's Place Rescue. Lady was a stray who was turned into a local shelter where she stayed for many weeks. Rescue Me ID: 16-07-07-00150Libby (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Libby was picked up by animal control as a stray and no one ever came looking for her. The shelter was overcrowded and Libby was on the list to be euthanized and we could not let that happen to her. Libby was found all matted and dirty. She also has a large tumor on her belly that needs to be removed. Clearly she her care has been neglected but in spite of that she is very sweet and playful. She gets along with dogs and cats. Libby is about 5 years old. Update: We took her to our vet where Libby had 13 teeth removed (one which was badly fractured), a dental, and was spayed. The large mass on her stomach, originally thought to be a ... (Read More)tumor, turned out to be an extremely painful hernia. It was the largest one our vet has seen - it was so large her bladder had fallen into it. She has already had surgery and is doing well. She also had a mammary tumor removed that was sent out for biopsy. Update 7/15: Her mammary tumor was benign! Libby's foster Mom said she is doing great. She is enjoying some time outside and eating well. She is playful (only gentle play allowed at this time) also gets along with her foster fur siblings. Libby will make a great family mm If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to please submit an application on our website today so that we can try and process and pre-approve any potential adopters prior to our next adoption event.
