Rescue Me ID: 15-07-21-00138Lucy (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Name: Lucy Sex: Female Breed: Yorkie Mix Age: 2 - 4 yrs old Weight: 15 lbs Good with: Male dogs and cats. Not tested with kids Lucy, Roxy and Luke were rescued from a horrible neglected life. They were extremely matted and underweight. After a much needed bath and grooming, Lucy has been transformed to the beauty she was meant to be!! She is a dominate little girl and gets along better with male dogs than females. She hasn't been around little children but she seems to like anyone who is gentle and loves to have her head or belly rubbed. Lucy doesn't like being alone but she does well in her crate once it is left open - she doesn't ... (Read More)like being locked in there. Being in a car is a new experience for her and she is afraid of it, she will pant and drool but car rides don't make her sick. At night she sleeps in bed with her foster mom. Right now she just wants to be held and given all the attention she never received in her previous home. She's not really into treats or toys, she probably doesn't know what they are. She will come when called, knows sit, is house trained and walks nicely on a leash. Her foster says 'She is amazing really. Everyone is in love already. She loves to be held, kissed and will follow you around. She's not a barker but will to get your attention. She is going to make someone a fantastic pal' If you are interested in adopting, fill out an adoption application at! Please note: We can only foster or adopt in the states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire (Less)

Animal ID: 13-198Benji (male)

Yorkie    Age: Senior

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Update 3/13/15: Hi everyone! Just want to let everyone know that I'm still on the adoption block. I was adopted just before Thanksgiving but it didn't work out for me. They were a great family but I was very nervous and they felt it would be better for me to return to FM and FD's home. It's been a long winter here in NewEngland and I for one have Cabin fever. Looking forward to long walks, going to the beach and catching those sun beams, oh how I've missed them. Did you know I went to the Dogter for a booster shot and the dreaded thermometer, now that was embarrassing. They weighed me and I am up to 9LBS! The Dogter said that was a good ... (Read More)weight for me. I had some blood work done to make sure my seizure medication was doing it's job. So if your looking for an older Gentleman who loves walks, car rides and sun beams put your application in so we can meet. One more thing FM and FD say my Barkday is just around the corner, you know what that means, party hats, presents and CAKE! I'm going to be 12 yrs. old but don't let that fool you cause I can keep up with my fursiblings and they are 8 and 6 yrs. old. Initial Bio 01/01/14: Benji is a Hurricane Katrina survivor who lost his owner and was taken into rescue. He was found to have heartworm disease and successfully underwent treatment. Benji has a seizure disorder that is easily treated with an inexpensive medication. He does require a limited diet of Prescription dog food Hill's I/D and a spacer ball to be placed in his food bowl to slow his eating. Eating too much and too quickly can bring on a seizure. Benji will need a securely fenced yard because he is a little escape artist. He enjoys basking in the sun and perching on lawn furniture. He loves to be with people and will cuddle up next to them. He loves other dogs, but care must be taken to ensure he doesn't help himself to dog food that other dogs are consuming. He is fearful of loud noises, thunder and lightening and is very fearful of fireworks. Benji enjoys rope toys that are designed to help clean teeth, and he loves playing with a tennis ball. He loves to have his hair brushed with a very soft brush and to be cuddled and patted. He is a very , very good dog and he loves to be loved. He prefers covered cat beds to the traditional dog bed (it helps him feel more secure, particularly during rain storms). He is a little boy who due to his size would be better in a home with no small children. (Less)
