ABOUT TUCKER Hey there! My name is Tucker. I am a tiny little Yorkie who loves to play. I can look a little ferocious (even though I am tiny) because I have a bit of an underbite and two of my bottom teeth show all the time. I like to pretend I am tough, too. When I am playing with my squeaky toys, I like to growl. Sometimes I can be a little nippy when I get too caught up in my play and become protective of my toys. If I do say so myself, I am quite handsome and impeccably groomed. My coat is very silky. My back is dark gray and silver and my belly, legs and head are tan. While we are talking about bellies, I want to mention that belly rubs ... (Read More)are one of my favorite things. I am great in the house. I do my business outside (okay I might have had one accident...no big deal), I am nice to my foster dog sister and I am even nice to the resident cats (would be unwise not to be, they are bigger than me). I don't really like my crate but I go in there and stay quiet when my foster mom has to leave me. I ride nicely in the car (I can even operate those power windows so look out) and like to go for walks. I am in a big hurry and can tug on the leash so a harness may be a better option although I hate having those things put on. To sum it up, I am an adorable, 6.8 lb, bundle of fun. I would love a family that can give me lots of attention. I might not like to share attention with young children but older kids who can play with me would be okay. Another little dog to play with would be double the fun. All my shots are up to date, I am neutered, negative for heartworm and lyme disease and have been microchipped. I even had some dental work done. I am the complete package (humble too). I can easily fit in a tote bag , pocketbook or under an airline seat so you can take me anywhere. Please consider taking me home!     Meet Suzie Q! A six pound, eight month old cutie(Q-tie?) looking for her 'furever' home. Suzie Q is full of energy, 'very very energetic' is the term her foster mom uses. She loves to ask for attention, and is learning how to play with the other dogs in her foster home. While Suzie Q has an adorable face(who can resist those ears? That tongue?!) she is still a puppy who is working on her comfort level with unfamiliar people, and also on the concept of house-training. She would do best in a home where her people are around much of the day as she vocally expresses her discomfort at being left alone. Suzie Q would thrive in a home where the ... (Read More)concept of 'parallel play' exists-in which you can do your thing while she hangs out in the same area. With time she will warm up. Keep checking back for updates on Suzie Q's progress! If you are interested in finding out more about Suzie Q, please fill out an application on our website by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://www.brokentailrescue.org/adoption-application/ Suzie Q is being fostered in Worcester and the adoption fee is $375. Yorkie Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi, I'm Simba. I am a handsome ten year old Maltese mix and I weigh around fifteen lbs. I get along with dogs, cats, and kids! I love to snuggle and just be around my people. I am very laid back and easy going; I enjoy going on walks, napping on laps during car rides, and emptying out my toy bin to find the perfect squeaky toy. You can take me anywhere with you and I am always on my best behavior. I especially enjoy going to baseball practices and Home Depot. I would enjoy a home with someone who loves to spend time with me and isn't away from the house for long periods of time--unless, of course, the plan is to take me with you! I really ... (Read More)am a wonderful dog, and I am hoping to find a family that will love me despite the fact that I am not fully house trained. I do go to the bathroom outdoors, but I will also go in the house sometimes. I can, however, go eight hours at night without any accidents--that's promising, right? I hope to meet my new family soon! Simba has been diagnosed with IMHA (Immune mediated hemolytic anemia). This does not affect his daily life and does not require medication. The vets have not recommended any treatment for him at this time. If you would like to have your veterinarian review Simba's medical history prior to adoption that can be arranged. If you are interested in finding out more about Simba, please fill out an application on our website by copying and pasting the following link into your browser. http://www.brokentailrescue.org/adoption-application/ Simba is being fostered in Charlton and his adoption fee is $50. PIease Read Before Adopting a Yorkie in Massachusetts
Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in Massachusetts if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.

lnteresting Yorkie Trivia Low-Cost Massachusetts Spay & Neuter Clinics
Yorkies were bred to hunt rats in the mines of north England. Yorkies were probably developed by Scotsmen working in Yorkshire, England. Piebald Yorkies came about by an accident of genetics in 1984 and are now considered a separate breed, the Biewer Yorkie. Yorkies used to be much larger but have gradually been bred down to become a miniature breed. Yorkies have been popular ladies' lap dogs for many years.
