Rescue Me ID: 17-01-20-00530Leo (male)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Leo is a 5 year old male Yorkie-Poo of 12 lbs. He's hypoallergenic due to his poodle genes. He's incredibly smart, funny, playful, energetic, enthusiastic and full of personality. He's very obedient. Great on the leash and off. Always comes when called. He enjoys going for walks, playing ball or with any toy for that matter. If you run out of energy playing with him, he will throw the toy for himself and keep up the fun. Leo is always up for any adventure. He often hops in the car if the door is open hoping to go along with us. Leo is continually looking for a warm lap to lay on or a nice blanket he can burrow under. He's a great ... (Read More)watch dog and alerts us when someone is coming. He gets along prefect with other dogs and in fact, probably prefers to have a companion. He's very sweet, gentle and patient with children. We groom him our selves and he does very well. He does great in the bath too. He's a self feeder; we just put his food in the bowl and he eats as he wants. Leo is potty trained, but does sprinkle in the house which can be fixed with a bit training or a belly band. He knows basic commands like: sit, stay, come, & down. If you give him a treat and tell him to 'Take it nice', he will gently take the treat from your hand. Leo is full of life and ready to be a part of your home! We are a rescue organization located in Georgia and have weekly transport available for our pups to relocate up north with their new forever families. Our adopters make their decision to adopt based on pictures, videos and talking to the foster parent. Leo's adoption fee is $ 550 which includes transport cost, all vaccines, heartworm test, neuter and micro chip. Please send us a message in order to receive an application.     Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in Massachusetts if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.
