Gizmo is a very small, senior Yorkie. He loves to snuggle. He is kennel trained, as long as you keep him in the same room as you. He is mostly housebroken, but has a history of marking. Due to his size and age, he would do better with older children. He also needs a secure, fenced in yard or will have to be walked on a leash, as he is an escape artist.

Meet Nyah! Nya is a Yorkie Terrier mix and is 3 years old. Nyah came to us from another shelter. She had been adopted out 3 times and returned 3 times for nipping. We agreed to take her on and help her. Since arriving at AHS we have had no nipping situations. Nyah has given warning growls when she feels her space is being invaded and she wasn't a fan of getting her nails trimmed, but no actual nipping. Nyah is an independent dog and has gotten along great with the dogs and cats at the sanctuary as long as they respect her space. She has a few quirks but nothing difficult to live with. The biggest thing with Nyah is respecting her space. She ... (Read More)enjoys short walks when the weather is good but mostly she loves to just relax. Whoever adopts Nyah needs to be able to offer a calm, relaxed environment. Oh, her owners also need to be an expert at doing nothing and enjoying tons of downtime. Nyah is housebroken and loves her crate (it is her own little sanctuary). Nyah needs a 1 or 2 person home. She is not demanding or bossy, she just wants her space respected (who doesn't?). If we want to hold her we ask her, we do not just scoop her up. Simple things like that give her comfort. No kids for this girl. We know Nyah isn't perfect (but who is?) but we know there is a great home out there for her! Could you give Nyah the home she deserves? Interested in Nyah? Please complete an adoption form from our website www.animalhousesanctuary.org and email to AHSAdopt@gmail.com. Questions/Inquiries can be directed to Cindy at 609-992-6649. Now through December 31, 2017 adoption fee special of $75! Adoption fee: $250 (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Yorkie in Indiana
Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.
