Rescue Me ID: 16-06-28-00156Buddy (male)

Yorkie    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Buddy is fun, playful and friendly! He was born 9/18/14. His owner had a life change and can no longer keep him. He has an old unknown injury on his front leg; it has developed a callous and the vet recommends to leave it as is. He would do best with a grassy fenced yard. He is active and doesn't seem to know that he has any problem. He loves to be near his human, gets along with other dogs, and doesn't get into too much mischief. He will need one on one training for housebreaking. He's very smart and anxious to please, so training should be pretty easy. He weighs about 8 pounds. He is neutered and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is ... (Read More)$195. Email potcake.rescue@live.com for an application. ADOPTION POLICY: We adopt on a first-come, first-approved basis. We do not hold pets for adoptions. Rescue Me ID: 16-06-02-00397Precious (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind, Abused/Neglected

This sweet girl is Precious. She is an amazing little dog, but she has had a HARD life. We are an out of pocket rescue and we have had her with us since Mother's Day of 2016. We rescued her from a high kill shelter. She was found as a stray.. After finding the owners they gave her up and did not reclaim her, one of the reasons is because they where in prison. Precious had no hair on the lower half of her body and had three cigarette burns! It is believed that she was from a meth house and that could be the reason that she has no eyes. Her nail were overgrown and all around neglected and abused.. One of the saddest cases I've ever seen! ... (Read More) Yes, Precious does not have eyes. But you would not even notice it! She gets around very well, she does run into things sometimes but she just keeps going :) She is a very happy go-lucky girl and she LOVES people. She will come to the sound of your voice and turn her head at every sound you make. She is small and fragile, so no homes with children under the age of 13 years old! She does very good with other dogs and cats! She is potty trained and walks very well on a leash (just a little slow lol). She has been spayed, microchipped and rabies vaccinated. She is about 8 years old and she is a Yorkie mix. If you are interested in this very unique, sweet, loving girl. Then please email me telling about yourself and what kind of home you can provide for her. We will be VERY picky on the home that she goes to, so the more you tell the better! You must provide vet references, pictures of your current/previous pets and a home check is likely. Her adoption fee is $100. Please send all information in your FIRST email! Thank you and I look forward to talking with you! *IF THE AD IS STILL UP, SHE IS STILL AVALIABLE FOR ADOPTION* (Less)

Animal ID: 16-054Grace (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Updated bio. 5-19-16 Grace is an adorable one to two-year-old little 7-pound Yorkie mix girl. She is being fostered in Athens, GA. Grace's adoption fee is $400 and includes all vetting (neuter, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Grace by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page. Little Miss Grace has settled in her foster home marvelously. Grace is now spayed and up to date on everything and ready to find her forever home. Her ... (Read More)forever home must have a friendly, sweet, and playful small dog because Grace really needs a fur friend in her forever home. Grace definitely needs a fenced yard. She loves to run around and play outside especially with another little fur friend. Grace is still very puppy-like so she would like to ideally find a home where she can get interaction all day long. Grace loves her humans as much as she loves dogs. She loves to cuddle with her human and she loves to be petted. The good news is Grace is doing great with her house training, but a move to another home might likely cause some setbacks. It would be important for Grace to have someone who would be willing to will work with her on possibly having to mastering her housebreaking skills again. Gracie would do well in a family with children over the age of 12, but no young children, please. Grace would be the perfect dog to be a companion to a fun-loving, good-tempered dog, and for anyone looking for a fun-loving, sweet, cuddly pup to call their own. Please fill out an adoption application for this pup. You won't be sorry. You can email her foster mom at denise@royalscpa.com if you want to know more about this terrific little, young girl. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Yorkie in Georgia
Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in Georgia if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.

lnteresting Yorkie Trivia Low-Cost Georgia Spay & Neuter Clinics
Yorkies were bred to hunt rats in the mines of north England. Yorkies were probably developed by Scotsmen working in Yorkshire, England. Piebald Yorkies came about by an accident of genetics in 1984 and are now considered a separate breed, the Biewer Yorkie. Yorkies have been popular ladies' lap dogs for many years.
