Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

HI!!!! I am Maxwell! They say I am a terrier mix, I am small, I m a year an a half old, about 10 pounds, male, and I am really cute!! I like to play, I am good on the leash, I am housebroken, I like little kids, cats and smaller dogs. I am really scared of some things like big dogs. I am curious and scared at first but if you give me a little while to warm up I will be okay. I am energetic, I like car rides, I like laps a lot, can I please come live with you and sit on your lap? I'd like a quiet loving home. Right now I am in my foster home in Waterbury CT!

Yorkie Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This small terrier mix dog was turned in by her owner. She is about 8 months old. She was really scared and still needs some reassurance but has come a long way. She has come out of her shell now and is becoming a real dog! Gets along with most of the dogs in the foster home but can be bossy. Working on teaching her manners. Does excellent with house training. Older kids only. Email for an application

Rescue Me ID: 14-03-30-00331Ellie (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Adorable little chi/yorkie mix Ellie is in need of a forever home. This young adult (4-6 years old) has some separation anxiety and would do best in a very calm home. She does very well with children, but would be best suited for a home with adults only (though visiting kids would be welcome!) We picture Ellie in a home with someone retired who can devote lots of time and attention to her.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Yorkie in Connecticut
Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.

lnteresting Yorkie Trivia Low-Cost Connecticut Spay & Neuter Clinics
Yorkies were bred to hunt rats in the mines of north England. Piebald Yorkies came about by an accident of genetics in 1984 and are now considered a separate breed, the Biewer Yorkie. Yorkies used to be much larger but have gradually been bred down to become a miniature breed. Yorkies have been popular ladies' lap dogs for many years.
