Rescue Me ID: 13-05-22-00336Sampson (male)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Vaccinations Current

This is Sampson, I got him from a friend who babied him for 6 years, he is the most lovable little pup u will ever meet; he grew up with babies so is super gentle and very sweet. I took him in because she could no longer keep him. I myself have 2 dogs, 3 goats, a cat and lots of fish. I also have a baby and a toddler. Taking Sammy in was a huge adjustment to us seeing that we had our dogs for so many years they were trained to our standards. Sampson has issues with marking in my house, I am not sure if it's because i have other dogs but this is an issue for us, esp. with a baby in the house and him marking on toys that go in her mouth. We ... (Read More)decided to get a harness diaper which has been AMAZING! He is trained to scratch at the door, so poop was never an issue, just the occasional markings. The only other issue he has, which isn't really an issue is when u leave for the day he gets really sad and cry's and barks :( he was left for long days alone from his human mom.. (So sad) We have had him for almost a year now and are so in love with him, but it's very hard for me to take care of my family, and have to worry about an extra animal. He also walks great on a leash, but it's hard for me to take him out. I just let my pups out in my backyard with no fence and they are great. We live in the woods. Sammy likes to take off and visit my neighbors! lol All in all, he is an AMAZING dog, and will make someone truly happy, as long as u don't mind having a harness around his pp. It's not a diaper, u can use a pad or liner, it doesn't cover his butt. :) Ohh one more thing, he also drinks LOTS AND LOTS of water.. I thought he had a medical condition, after doing every test and a thousand dollars later he is perfectly fine, great health and teeth! We think he has a little bit of a neurosis because his first owner would only give him a half a cup a day! (Some trainer told her to do that when he was a puppy! can u imagine?? ) Ugh.. so we limit his water bowl or he will keep going and going..Any who he is a love bug and i would love for him to go to a home that will give him all the love he needs back. Rescue Me ID: 13-05-12-00299Zoe (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

If Zoe was a human girl, we imagine she'd be the type who would love sleepover parties, painting each other's nails different colors, and giggling all night!! She'd be the type of girl who would love to go shopping with her girlfriends, trying on lots of different clothes in department stores, and she'd probably own a hundred pairs of shoes!! Simply put, Zoe is a girly girl who really values her friendships with her BFF's!! Zoe had been in a traditional family with a mom, a dad and kids, but she really bonded solely with the mom so it didn't quite work for the family. Because Zoe bonds so deeply with women, we're looking for a single woman ... (Read More)who's also looking for a BFF. Zoe is lovable, loyal and little enough to take everywhere -- what better qualities for a sidekick! Zoe is about 3 years old, she's housetrained and she's a healthy girl. PIease Read Before Adopting a Yorkie in Connecticut
Yorkie Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. The Yorkshire Terrier is a cute, spunky little dog with a true Terrier temperament. Yorkies can be dog aggressive and wary of strangers. Yorkshire Terriers are loving and devoted to their people and do fine with children who respect them. Yorkies respond well to firm, consistent obedience training but may require patience when housebreaking. They do fine in an apartment but need to play and be taken on a daily walk.

lnteresting Yorkie Trivia Low-Cost Connecticut Spay & Neuter Clinics
Yorkies were bred to hunt rats in the mines of north England. Yorkies were probably developed by Scotsmen working in Yorkshire, England. Piebald Yorkies came about by an accident of genetics in 1984 and are now considered a separate breed, the Biewer Yorkie. Yorkies used to be much larger but have gradually been bred down to become a miniature breed. Yorkies have been popular ladies' lap dogs for many years.
